Kaenyama, the place for sushi-lovers

by Ashley Nguyen

Kaenyama, a Japanese Fusion restaurant located in Fremont, is a must when it comes to eating out. Its wide selection of entrees and seating areas make it the perfect venue for a variety of occasions ranging from special events to small get-togethers for lunch.

The pricing of the food may seem a bit over budget at first glance. However, Kaenyama has happy hours every day offering certain foods for inexpensive prices depending on the day. Despite the low prices, the sushi there is of very high quality.

Kaenyama also offers multiple options of seating areas to cater to different occasions. They have seating at regular tables, at the sushi bar, in private rooms for large parties, and around the teppanyaki grill. The “Teppanyaki Experience” according to the Kaenyama website, is where the chef prepares the food on a hot iron griddle while entertaining the customers with a live cooking show as well. With tasty food and pleasant entertainment, Kaenyama is definitely a great place to satisfy sushi cravings.

In addition to accommodating a wide array of occasions, Kaenyama also turns into a lounge at night on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Although students attending MHS may not be allowed to utilize the bar available there, the lounge is still worth going to nonetheless. The music that plays in the background gives it a calm, enjoyable setting and makes it the optimum place to relax and eat.
